FAQs

Answers to the Questions Our Clients Ask Most

At Omega Home Inspections, we believe in transparency and education. Whether you’re a first-time homebuyer or a seasoned seller, our goal is to make the inspection process simple, clear, and stress-free. Below are some of the most common questions we receive.

General Home Inspection Questions

  • What is a home inspection?

A home inspection is a non-invasive visual evaluation of a property’s major systems and components. It identifies safety concerns, maintenance needs, and defects to help you make informed decisions.

  • How long does a typical inspection take?

Most inspections take between 2–3 hours, depending on the size, age, and condition of the property.

  • When will I receive my report?

You will receive a detailed digital report within 24 hours of your inspection. Reports include photographs, explanations, and recommendations.

  • Can I attend the inspection?

Yes, and we encourage it. Being present allows you to ask questions, see issues firsthand, and better understand your report.

  • Do you provide cost estimates for repairs?

No. To remain unbiased, we do not provide repair quotes. We recommend consulting a licensed contractor for pricing based on our findings.

Radon Testing FAQs

  • What is radon, and why should I test for it?

Radon is a naturally occurring radioactive gas that can enter homes from the ground. It is odorless and invisible, and long-term exposure can lead to lung cancer. Testing is the only way to know your radon levels.

  • How does radon testing work?

We use continuous radon monitors (CRMs) placed in your home for 48 hours. After data collection, we generate a certified report with results and recommendations.

  • Can radon levels vary by season?

Yes. Radon concentrations often increase during colder months due to reduced ventilation. However, testing is accurate year-round.

Pre-Listing and New Construction Questions

  • Why should I get a pre-listing inspection?

A pre-listing inspection gives you a chance to fix issues before listing your home, helping prevent price negotiations or delays during the selling process.

  • Do I need an inspection for new construction?

Absolutely. New homes can have defects, code violations, or unfinished work. A third-party inspection ensures quality and protects your investment before closing.

Payment and Scheduling

  • What forms of payment do you accept?

We accept major credit cards, checks, and digital payment (please confirm payment method at the time of booking).

  • When are inspections available?

We schedule inspections 7 days a week, from 7:30 AM to 7:30 PM, including evenings for your convenience.

  • How do I book an inspection?

You can schedule by phone, email, or through our online contact form.
